Dot IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code top-level domain extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to share it with colleagues and pals. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is related to the technology sector in view of the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized around the globe.

Because dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this extension, such a domain can be reserved through a 3rd-party service provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can obtain a dot IT domain for no more than a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the minute the transfer has been completed. The sole prerequisite is that the person booking such a domain is required to be located in a country, which is a member of the European Union.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such third-level domains, though, considering the fact that they can be registered only by locals.
